This is pretty heinous. Like, ethically misguided at best. I just wonder how many desperate and impressionable teens are going to read this and consider adjusting their sleep schedule to one where they are not getting enough. And based off what evidence…?
Serious, this is without a doubt one of the worst posts I have ever seen under the psychology tag. Or on Tumblr. “Sleep less so you are more numb to your emotions and your depression will get better.”
I understand sleeping less in the context of depression can be beneficial advice under the supervision of a therapist/doctor (e.g., for individuals who sleep 14 hours per day), but the point of this is clearly to get such an insufficient amount of sleep that you become numb to your emotions, which to me hints at some level of sleep deprivation.
This is disgusting.
